UN DESIERTO FLORIDO EN CHILE

23 de agosto del 2017: Hay un desierto especial en Chile. El desierto se llama el ‘desierto florido’. Típicamente, no hay muchas plantas en el desierto. No hay muchas plantas porque no hay mucha lluvia (rain). En un año (year) típico, no hay mucha lluvia en el desierto. No hay lluvias intensas.

Típicamente, no hay muchas plantas en el desierto porque no hay mucha lluvia. Cada (each/every) 5 o 7 años (years), ocurre un fenómeno increíble. Hay intensas lluvias cada 5 o 7 años, ¡hay mucha lluvia en agosto!

En el 2015 (dos mil quince), lluvias intensas transformaron el desierto. Había (there were) muchas flores en el desierto. Había mucho color y muchas plantas en el desierto. Muchas personas visitaron el desierto. Querían ver (they wanted to see) las flores coloridas.

En el 2017 (dos mil diecisiete), solo dos años después, también hubo lluvias intensas. Dos años (entre 2015 y 2017) es un intervalo muy corto. Las intensas lluvias causaron una explosión de plantas y de color en el desierto. Muchos turistas y muchos botanistas visitaron el desierto. Querían ver el fenómeno natural.
