Shapes in Art

In this lesson, students will read about how artists use shapes from the world and from their imagination to create art.

CONTENT OBJECTIVE: I can identify and describe shapes in the world and in art.

• WIDA Standard 2 (Language Arts): Use descriptive words to identify and compare features of shapes (triangle, square, circle, rectangle).
  
  
• WIDA Standard 1 (Social/Instructional): Use simple phrases to share ideas with peers (“This is a circle.” / “The square has four sides.”).
