In this lesson, students will learn that shapes can be combined to form new shapes.

CONTENT OBJECTIVE: I can use small shapes to make a bigger shape.

WIDA Standard 4 (Math): Compose two or more shapes to form a new shape (e.g., “two triangles make a square”).

WIDA Standard 2 (Language Arts): Use sequence and cause/effect words to tell how shapes were combined.

WIDA Standard 1 (Social/Instructional): Use frames to explain (e.g., “I put a ___ and a ___ together to make a ___.”).
