Step One Social Studies 1.2: "Time, History, and Change"

This is the second Social Studies path in the Garbanzo Academy. This path introduces foundational concepts about time, history, and how communities change. Students learn to use words that describe the past, present, and future, recognize important symbols of the United States, and understand how holidays and special events connect us to history. They explore how communities change over time, learn about leaders and historical figures, and discover how timelines and calendars help us organize time.

Designed especially for Multilingual Learners (MLLs), this path includes both simplified informational texts and engaging narrative stories. Lessons use repetition, stories with characters, visuals, and clear academic language to build social studies understanding while supporting English language development.
