Step One Playground: Life Science

This Step One Life Science Playground is a collection of optional lessons that extend the main Life Science 1.1 path. The Playground is designed for students who have already completed the main Life Science 1.1 path and are ready to explore more. These lessons are optional: teachers may assign them to reinforce concepts, build curiosity, or provide additional practice.

In the Playground, students learn about life cycles, animal and plant adaptations, seasonal behaviors, and special relationships in nature. Some lessons connect science to human life by showing how we use tools, observe nature, or solve problems. The focus is on accessible, engaging texts that extend science understanding while continuing to support English language development for multilingual learners.
