The Garbanzo Spanish Podcast Episode 22: La leyenda de los hermanos Ayar - Now Streaming!

Have you ever wondered how Cusco was founded?  In this episode, listen as Walter Rodriguez Martinez recounts the Incan legend of the Ayar Brothers whose journey led to the settlement of Cusco.  Four brothers set out… how many will reach their destination?  

This episode uses core vocabulary covered in previous episodes plus some words that come from Somos 1 Unit 9.

Here are some ways to use them!

Print out pages 1-2 and have your students read the story before, during, or after listening.

Print out one copy of page 3 per student or group and have them figure out which event occurred first from each pair.

Let your students' creativity shine! Have your students illustrate a scene from the story including speech bubbles in Spanish. They could choose their own scene, OR, you could break up the story into chunks to make sure you get the whole thing illustrated and use the drawings as a guide for retelling!
