Official release of VPAT
Last month, Garbanzo officially released our VPAT - Voluntary Product Accessibility Template for our learning interface.
A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template is a document that explains how well a product meets accessibility standards.
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires websites and other IT to be accessible to people with disabilities. Our VPAT explains the specific ways in which Garbanzo is accessible.
Over the past few years, we’ve had districts ask about our accessibility options. Our VPAT not only helps answer questions, but also helps districts assess our accessibility standards and compliance.
Communication is a human right
At Garbanzo, we believe that language acquisition resources should be accessible to EVERYONE.
Language is communication. Communication is essential to our well-being as humans and is a basic human right.
As such, it’s important that we provide as many opportunities for accessibility as possible.
We’re really proud to provide audio versions of our lessons for most of our Spanish and English lesson libraries (all-access is available to our Premium subscribers; Standard subscribers get access to Spanish Core5 and Core15 Paths and English Core10 paths), and we know that having our VPAT is yet another step in the right direction.
If your school district is rightly concerned about the accessibility of platforms you use in class, send them the link to our VPAT and get started with your free 30-day trial today.
